Northeast India otherwise called as Seven Sisters are a group of states  well known to all yet very less traveled . So  the question is, what is best place to visit in Northeast India?  Well the answer is right here. This place have wide range of beautiful sites from dense forest to the marks of ancient civilization, from wide rivers to large national parks, from historical monuments to high end developing modern cities. Here are some of the most visited places in Northeast India.


1.Double-Decker Living Root Bridge (Meghalaya): 

    

This iconic Double-Decker root bridge as the local Khasi tribe calls it Jingkieng Nongriat is located at Nongriat village near Cherrapunji, Meghalaya. It is a two and half hour drive from the Shillong. This legendary bridge will be a perfect gateway for the nature lovers who wants to get lost into the wilderness.This Double-Decker living root bridge is made up of two bridges, which are stack one above the other. For such bridges it takes about 15 years to get its maturity. 


2. Tawang (Arunachal Pradesh):

       

Tawang means 'Chosen Horse'. It is a district in Arunachal Pradesh located in western most part of the state. Tawang have wide range of beautiful sites. From majestic monastery such as Galden Namgey Lhatse to breath taking lake view, Madhuri lake. Apart from these sites paragliding, rafting and trekking are another set of attraction for thrill seekers. So why to waste your  time, pack your bags and have best experience of your life. 


3. Valley of Flowers (Sikkim):

Yamthang valley sits at 3,500 meters above sea level, situated at the northern part of Himalayan state of Sikkim. This place is located at the end of the tree line, which gives the region a unique  picturesque. The valley host the Shingba Rhododendons Sanctury and as the name says the place comes with wide varieties of floral species such as iris, primulas, cobra lilies, louse wort, poppies. And if you happens to be a photography enthusiast, this is a must visit place for you. 


4. Kohima War Cemetery (Nagaland):


Kohima war cemetery is situated at Kohima, capital city of Nagaland. This war cemetery was built in the year 1944 in the memory of British and its commonwealth soldiers  who lost their lives in WWII in Kohima. The cemetery lies on the battle ground of Garrison Hill. If you are interested in the events of wars and want to commemorate the sacrifice of these brave hearts, this is a place you need to add to your bucket list.


5. Murlen National Park (Mizoram): 

                                                                             

Murlen national park is located in Champhai district of Mizoram. It was declared as  Natioanl Park in the year 1991. Murlen is dominated by various rich flora and fauna such as Arundinaria, Collasa, Querscus, Betula Specie, Pinus Kesiya and tiger, Leopard, Sambar, Barking Deer, Himalayan Black Bear, Gibbon respectively. Well what you are waiting for, come and visit Murlen.


6. Ujjayanta Palace (Tripura):

 

This gleaming white Ujjayanta palace is located at Agartala, Tripura. Maharaja Radhakishore Manikya built the palace in the Indo-Saracenic architectural style. The name of the palace was given by Nobel Laureate Rabindranath Tagore. The palace turned museum has 22 galleries and showcase the art and culture, history and diversity of Northeast India. Everyone wants to feel the luxury of Royalties, I bet you do too.

7.Rang Ghar (Assam):


Assam the heart of Northeast India

Last but not the least, Rang Ghar , it is a double storey structure built by Swargadeo Pramatha Sinfgha in 18th century. This 10 meter high pavilion was constructed to watch cultural and traditional events like Buffalo and elephant fights. Rang Ghar is situated at Sivasagar, which also happens to be  the capital of the Ahom kingdom  from 1699 to 1788. Apart from this structure, we can also see other historical monuments like Kareng Ghar & Talatal Ghar , Gargaon Palace,Charaideo, Joysagar Tank and many more.
